New Med Center Health Apprenticeship Program

Med Center Health, in partnership with South Central Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC), is excited to offer a Patient Care Technician Apprenticeship Program. The Program consists of approximately 12 months of on-the-job training and educational classes, including the Leadership Academy at SKYCTC. Apprentices earn progressive wages and certification of completion for the educational courses.

What is a Patient Care Technician?

In addition to providing or assisting with basic direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs other basic medical duties, such as:

  • Monitoring heart activity with EKG
  • Observing and evaluating cardiac arrhythmias
  • Drawing blood
  • Other sterile and/or invasive techniques

Who is eligible to apply?

If you are a Med Center Health employee and have at least one year of experience as a nursing assistant, patient care assistant, monitor technician, phlebotomist, or related employee, you are eligible to apply.

Information Sessions will be held at The Medical Center at Bowling Green Auditorium on the dates below:

  • Thursday, August 22
    • 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Friday, August 23
    • 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 27
    • 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
