National EMS Week
During National EMS Week, we celebrate Medical Center EMS and all the dedicated and caring employees who serve our community. They are there on people’s worst days to provide help and hope when patients need it the most. The community sees the exceptional response from our paramedics and EMTs, but are not always aware of the entire team behind the scenes that help make it all possible. We salute team members who answer the call to say “Medical Center EMS, what’s the address of your emergency?” and stay on the phone until help arrives; who ensure fuel is in the tanks and engines are running properly; and, who ensure paperwork is completed and filed correctly. You are truly appreciated.
Aaron Steele – EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics and Critical Care Paramedics respond to emergencies and provide lifesaving care. They are the ones who hold your hand, perform CPR, take care of car accidents and help deliver babies when an expectant mother can’t get to the hospital in time. They see the community at its absolute worst and still come back day after day to make sure you and family have the best emergency medical care. Al Thacker – Our Dedicated Mechanic performs preventive maintenance on our entire fleet. He takes care of all mechanical needs and is always available when we need him. Ali Stevens – Office Staff and Billing and Coding Staff handle medical billing and coding, making sure paperwork is in proper order. They are truly amazing at their jobs, staying up-to-date on the latest rules and regulations related to insurance. Without them we would not be able to bill the insurance companies. Asa Wright – Our Mobile Health Department communicates between facilities for non-emergent runs. They make sure all paperwork is in place, so patients do not have to worry. Gary Madison – Our Management Team is on call 24/7 and work behind the scenes, ensuring Medical Center EMS provides the highest level of response and medical care to the community. They make sure all Protocols and Standard Operating Guidelines are up to date and that staff complete all training. They support the entire team and serve as mentors. Jazmine Boes – When you call 911, Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMDs) are there to not only take the call and send an ambulance, but to comfort the caller, give them lifesaving instructions. They make sure the ambulance crew have information, resources and a safety net while on scene, all while communicating with receiving facilities for non-emergent and emergent runs as well. Kendra Messenger (not pictured) and Jon Henbest – Community Paramedics are specially trained to provide care in the home much like home health. They monitor the patient’s health, teach them how to better manage their complex medical condition and connect them to community resources to help fill gaps in their care. Robert Doughty – In-house Information Technology (IT) staff keep us running. We are backed by an amazing IT Department from The Medical Center, but we rely on our in-house personnel on a daily basis. Steve Carpenter and Jon Henbest – Tactical Medics complete extra training to help keep our police officers safe. They put in extra time and put their lives in danger when going on calls with the officers.
