Med Center Health partners with WKU for Camp CARE 2025

Med Center Health partnered with WKU for Camp CARE 2025 to provide two camps, offering 13-15-year-olds across our community the opportunity to visit the Medical Center Bowling Green Campus and explore various fields of healthcare.
The campers participated in hands-on activities designed to inspire them to become future healthcare professionals. The campers engaged in activities such as intubation with Med Center Health Respiratory Therapists, learned about surgery and Anesthesia from Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and mixed compound ointment under the guidance of our Director of Pharmacy. They learned the importance of body mechanics with Physical and Occupational Therapy. The campers learned about phlebotomy and had the opportunity to see various pieces of equipment from an MCH Medical Laboratory Technologist. They toured an ambulance and learned about emergency services from EMTs and paramedics. They learned about nursing from Education and Women’s and Children’s Services.
The campers took a tour of the Medical Center at Bowling Green, where they met many employees, including hospitalists, visited the lab, watched the Pharmacy Robot in action, learned how an X-ray works, and discovered the importance of endoscopies. They also had their picture taken on the helipad.
The two Camp CARE weeks allowed approximately 100 teenagers to learn and hopefully spark a passion for healthcare. Thank you to all of the Med Center Health professionals who shared their love and passion for healthcare during Camp CARE 2025!
