Susan Blancett named Hometown Hero of the Month by Hughes & Coleman
Susan Blancett, a medical assistant at Med Center Health Hematology and Oncology, was nominated anonymously by a patient to be recognized as a Hometown Hero on WBKO. Blancett was nominated for her incredible kindness and ability to help her patients momentarily forget about their cancer diagnoses.
Earlier this month, Susan was also awarded the Hometown Hero of the Month by Hughes & Coleman. With this honor, Susan got to go to Hughes & Coleman and write a $500 check to any non-profit of her choosing.
Susan chose to send the $500 to the Med Center Health Foundation, specifically to the Medical Center Cancer Treatment Center to help pay for bills, medications, travel fees and anything else that our cancer patients might need help with. We are so proud of Susan and so happy for her to be recognized for everything that she does for the Oncology department and the patients she sees each day.
