MCH Get Fit Club Bringing Back Healthy Vending Program with a chance to win tickets to a play & a $100 gift card

The MCH Get Fit Club is bringing back its “Healthy Vending Program” to help promote healthy eating when employees are purchasing from an MCH vending machine. The Get Fit Club is the MCH employee wellness program, designed to assist employees with meeting their wellness goals. The Healthy Vending initiative is only a small part of the MCH Get Fit Club, but a very important one. 

So what is considered a ‘healthy option’?  5-Star Vending uses a snack criteria in order to categorize snacks as Choice Plus/Get Fit.  It is as follows: 

To make it easy for the MCH employees to recognize a healthy snack, look to the right in the vending machine and the snack row/runner will have a green cover.  This will indicate you are selecting a healthy snack.  Look right, to choose right!  You will be surprised at the healthy snacks that are available on MCH campuses.  Currently, all machines should have at least 10% of their options considered as a Healthy Choice Plus item. Here are some examples:

There are many advantages in choosing a Get Fit snack, such as being able to enjoy fresher products.  Non-fit items are usually loaded with preservatives.  Healthier foods are often more perishable and are changed out more frequently.  You will find these snacks keep you full longer.  Snacking on foods that are high in fiber will ensure that you can make it through your day without having to fight annoying hunger pains.  

The MCH Get Fit Club has partnered with 5 Star Vending in an effort to draw awareness to the benefits of healthy snacking.   5-Star Vending has donated a Festive Family Fun night package to be given away during a random draw on December 18^th, as part of the Healthy Vending –  ‘Simple Pleasures’, program  renewal. 

Starting now, each time you choose a healthy snack, use the QR code below (this will be located on the machine) > enter your Emp ID#/cell/last 4 digits of bar code.  It is that simple!  On December 18^th, the random draw will occur and the winner will be announced. 

The package includes 4 tickets to SKyPAC’s A Charlie Brown Christmas – Live on Stage (December 22, 2023 @ 7:00 p.m.), a $100 gift certificate to Mellow Mushroom & a vending snack basket.
