Learn more about Med Center Health’s Student Nurse Extern Program
Are you interested in developing and enhancing your Patient Care skills while being actively enrolled in your Nursing Program? If you answered yes, then our Student Nurse Extern Program is for you! This position is designed to build confidence and skills at the bedside under the mentorship of a Healthcare Professional. To be eligible for this program you must have completed the first semester of your Nursing Program and successfully passed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
Program Responsibilities & Opportunities:
- Patient Care Assistant responsibilities
- Blood glucose measurements
- Insertion/removal of indwelling foley catheters
- Removal of peripheral IV insertions
- Strengthening of core clinical and organization nursing skills
- Flexible hours to fit your school and personal schedules
The application deadline for our May 2025 cohort is April 11th, 2025.
Those selected for the program will start May 19th, 2025.
