Med Center Health Heart, Lung & Vascular Surgeons is proud to welcome Karen C. Nelson, D.O. to our cardiothoracic surgery team. Dr. Nelson brings her experience and advanced training to provide first rate heart and lung surgical care to residents of Southcentral Kentucky. She joins a highly skilled team that is consistently recognized as among the best in the nation by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

Dr. Nelson is a fierce patient advocate. She takes a collaborative approach with other specialists and keeps open lines of communication with her patients’ primary care providers.

In her free time, Dr. Nelson loves to travel and experience new cultures. She enjoys playing and watching sports and attending classic car shows.
