“I’m Mary and I work on the PCU/3B Unit and I’m here to talk to you about vaccines. The COVID vaccine is very important to our community and our patients. We do not want to be out sick. We want to have a herd immunity, and I’m personally vaccinated and I encourage all my co-workers to get vaccinated.

“I have seen more death in this short period of time than I have in my nearly 20-year career at Med Center. COVID dramatically affects people. Some people don’t have seemingly any infection and no symptoms; and some people just go bad quickly. They require lots of oxygen, are isolated from their family and friends, and we’re generally only allowing a visit if it’s toward end of life. You know, and that’s just an awful way to be.

“I feel it’s very important to have a vaccinated workforce here at Med Center Health, so that we can be here safe and healthy to take care of our sick population of our community.”
