Behavioral health programs are for those needing professional assistance in gaining and maintaining mental health. While each program has its own set of defined goals, the ultimate goal is to enable individuals to lead healthy and productive lives.
Adult inpatient Programs
The Medical Center’s Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Services provide a safe and secure environment for individuals experiencing:
- Suicidal thoughts
- Extreme mood swings
- Life-threatening behaviors
- Major depression or other psychiatric illnesses
Acute care treatment is designed to provide a variety of treatment options based on the needs of the individual. Individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and educational groups provide the basis for treatment. Many patients with mental disorders also have concurrent medical problems. In such cases, the full array of medical diagnostic and treatment services are available to patients on the psychiatric unit.
Geriatric inpatient program
A unique service of the Inpatient Program is Special Care, a geriatric program designed primarily to meet the mental health needs of the elderly population. Often times the mental and emotional healthcare needs of older adults differ significantly from those of the general adult population. Our extensive range of services is designed specifically for older adults who experience mental health issues including those complicated by behavior and/or other medical problems.
Inpatient services including referral, intake and admission are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information, call (270) 796-6435.
