Behavioral Health

No matter what specific mental health issue you may be dealing with, the goal of Behavioral Health Services at Med Center Health is the same: To help you return to an active, healthy and productive life. Our psychiatrists and other mental health specialists treat each individual with compassion and respect.

From depression and anxiety to severe anti-social behaviors, the board-certified behavioral health doctors and nurse practitioners at Med Center Health specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental health problems in adults.

Psychiatrists are highly trained medical doctors who can help you or a loved one find solutions. Medical Center Psychiatry can help patients change behaviors or thought patterns, explore the effect of past relationships and experiences on present behaviors, treat troubled relationships, or solve other problems.

The doctors and nurse practitioners at Med Center Health can determine if there is a need for medication to help restore imbalances in body chemistry, which often play a major role in mental health problems.

Many conditions can be treated on an outpatient basis, but when hospitalization is called for, the physicians at Med Center Health can work with The Medical Center Behavioral Health Services to develop an effective treatment program to meet the patient’s individual needs.

The Behavioral Health Services treatment team includes a variety of expert healthcare professionals, including:

  • Board-certified Psychiatrists
  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers
  • Psychiatric Certified RNs
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist
  • Clinical Psychologist

Free assessments are available for individuals seeking outpatient services. A program representative will contact the patient to arrange for the assessment, where additional history and information about the presenting problems and/or stressors will be obtained, to ensure the most appropriate level of care.

Depending on each unique situation and the relative severity of the condition, these may be handled on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
