Med Center Health was proud to once again serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the Daily News’ Kentucky Super Preps on June 15 at Bowling Green Ballpark. In its 4th year, Kentucky Super Preps honors high school student athletes throughout Southcentral Kentucky for their achievements in athletics, academics and community involvement.

Jase Pinerola, Vice President for Physical Rehabilitation, welcomed guests to the event on behalf of Med Center Health. Jase shared his experience as a high school athlete that led him on the path to a career in healthcare as a physical therapist and athletic trainer.

Larry Jobe with the Daily News and Tony Rose with WDNS/WKCT served as Masters of Ceremony of the event. Featured speaker was former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kevin Dyson. Dyson was drafted by the Titans in 1998 and played in the NFL until 2003. After leaving football, he earned two Masters degrees and a Doctorate. He currently serves as principal of Centennial High School in Franklin, Tenn.

Athletes were nominated by their coaches for each KHSAA-sanctioned sport at 13 area high schools. One student athlete was chosen as Athlete of the Year in each sport. Several special awards were presented — including the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, sponsored by Med Center Health and presented to Bryce Russell from Glasgow.
