Critical Care Certification (CCRN) Exam Review

Content Overview: This course will assist the critical care RN in obtaining greater knowledge relating to generalized critical care nursing needed for passing the CCRN exam.

Objectives:

Day One:

  • 8:00-9:00 a.m. Integrate the Synergy Model principles in the management of acutely ill patients and their families
  • 9:00-9:15 a.m. Break
  • 9:15 a.m. -12:00 noon Design a plan of care for patients experiencing cardiovascular disorders
  • 12:00-12:30 p.m. Lunch
  • 12:30-1:45 p.m. Design a plan of care for patients with renal abnormalities
  • 1:45-2:00 p.m. Break
  • 2:00-3:15 p.m. Explain appropriate interventions in the care of persons with endocrine diseases
  • 3:15-4:00 o,n, Summarize the management of patients with behavioral abnormalities

Day Two:

  • 8:00-10:00 a.m. Explain the nursing interventions necessary in the care of the patient with pulmonary disease
  • 10:00-10:15 a.m. Break
  • 10:15 a.m.-12:00 noon Describe interventions necessary for the care of patients with neurologic disturbances
  • 12:00-12:30 p.m. Lunch
  • 12:30-1:45 p.m. Design the plan of care for a patient with multisystem alterations
  • 1:45-2:00 p.m. Break
  • 2:00-3:00 p.m. Summarize the various interventions necessary in caring for patients with GI disorders
  • 3:00-4:00 p.m. Explain the nursing priorities in the management of patients with hematologic / immunologic diseases

REGISTRATION:

Med Center Health employees register in symplr Learning (formerly Net Learning) to ensure adequacy of space and materials. Registration must be received in the department at least 48 hours in advance of the program. Late registrations will be accepted if space is available. Employees can confirm registrations in symplr Learning by checking “My Scheduled Classes.”

ATTENDANCE: All participants are required to have their current nursing license number, or a picture ID when registering for any offerings. Participants must attend the entire offering, participate in pre or post-testing when applicable, and submit a completed evaluation form to receive credit. Partial credit will not be given.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS: When there are changes or cancellations in the program, participants who are pre-registered will be notified. Registrants that wish to cancel their participation in a offering must “drop” the class from “My Scheduled Classes.” If it is less than 48 hours prior to the class, registrants should notify Education and Development by: Sending an e-mail message to EDU@CHC.NET or by calling 270-796-2566. For non-employees, registration fees will be returned minus $20 processing fee.
